"LETTING GO" is from Act 2 of Finishing Arthur Danby.  Arthur has been writing a book about a fictional girl in a fictional town since he was 8 years old.  Today is his 40th birthday.  He hasn't walked out the door of his home/bookstore for 32 years.  Arthur's neighbor (and only friend), Hannah Dupree has finally come clean... she's in love with Arthur and has invited him to walk outside the door of the store with her.  He flips.  Having sent Hannah away for the final time, Arthur turns again to his writing where, in a bold and dramatic move, he erases the love interest he's just written in for the book's heroine, Allana.  As he tears the pages bearing any words about Aiden Brogan out of the book, Allana stands motionless as the memory of the man she loves vanishes from her mind, word-by-word.
